Grand Theft Auto VI pre-orders went live at midnight local time on June 25, 2026.

Rockstar has confirmed two editions and two prices. The lineup is simpler than expected, with no Collector’s tier, at least for now. Here’s what each version includes, what comes as a pre-order bonus, and what to know before you commit.

What Rockstar has confirmed

Two editions are available at launch. The Standard Edition retails for $79.99 and the Ultimate Edition retails for $99.99. Both are available digitally through the PlayStation Store, Microsoft Store, and Rockstar Games Store. Physical copies of the Standard Edition are also available through major retailers including Amazon, Best Buy, GameStop, Walmart, Target, and the Rockstar Games Store directly, with one important caveat: the physical version is a code in a box, not a disc.

The Standard Edition

The Standard Edition at $79.99 gets you the base game. That includes the single-player experience following Jason Duval and Lucia Caminos through Leonida, Rockstar’s largest open world to date.

GTA 6 is described as “a single-player experience set in the biggest, most immersive evolution of the series yet.” No multiplayer or online mode was mentioned in the pre-order announcement, which is a notable shift from how GTA V was sold in 2013.

Every Standard Edition pre-order also comes with the Vintage Vice City Pack as a pre-order bonus, plus a free month of GTA+ for digital pre-orders.

The Ultimate Edition

The Ultimate Edition at $99.99 includes everything in the Standard Edition plus a collection of single-player extras described as “an exclusive collection of premium vehicles, weapons, apparel, and action threaded across all aspects of Jason and Lucia’s story.”

What’s specifically confirmed for the Ultimate Edition includes personalized variants of Jason’s Girardi ES9 pistol and Lucia’s Klose K17 pistol, along with the Hawk and Little Morgan Revolvers.

The edition also adds a collection of premium vehicles, including the ‘95 Grotti Cheetah, Shitzu Squalo, ‘67 Vapid Dominator Buggy, Jason’s Dinka Enduro motorcycle, Crest Kayak, and a Ganado Retro Build for his pickup truck.

Beyond equipment, Ultimate owners receive two exclusive apparel collections (Vice City Style and Goodtime Gear) and two side missions (PTT Youngin$ Compound and Classic Car Collection).

The Ultimate Edition also includes five in-game businesses and customization locations: Rideout Customs, One-Eyed Willie’s, Sara’s Unisex Salon, Electric Fang Tattoo, and Stock 305. Rockstar has described all five as Ultimate Edition exclusives.

The $20 jump from Standard to Ultimate is modest by AAA edition standards. For comparison, the gap between GTA V’s Standard Edition ($59.99) and Special Edition ($79.99) in 2013 was the same $20.

The Vintage Vice City Pack pre-order bonus

Both editions come with the Vintage Vice City Pack for anyone who pre-orders before November 20, 2026. The pack rewards early commitment and leans into the 1980s Vice City aesthetic that the original 2002 game made famous.

The pack includes a 1955 Vapid Stanier sedan, a garage alongside Ocean Beach, vintage outfits and hairstyles for both Jason and Lucia, and a weapon pattern that, in the studio’s words, “echoes the excess of the past.” Digital pre-orders also receive a free month of GTA+ membership. GTA+ is Rockstar’s subscription service for GTA Online, currently offering monthly bonuses, exclusive items, and member-only benefits.

The “physical” edition isn’t a disc

This is the detail many longtime fans will want to know clearly. Physical copies of GTA 6 are not disc-based. They are download codes packaged in a box, and they release alongside digital copies on November 12 for pre-load.

This continues a trend across major releases over the past few years. For collectors who want a physical box on the shelf, the codes still ship in retail packaging. But anyone hoping to insert a disc and play offline forever will need to adjust expectations.

The lack of a disc also means no resale market for physical copies. Codes are tied to accounts once redeemed.

What about a Collector’s Edition?

Rockstar has not announced a Collector’s Edition. As of pre-order day, only Standard and Ultimate exist.

That doesn’t mean a Collector’s Edition won’t appear later. GTA V followed a similar pattern in 2013. Rockstar opened pre-orders with Standard pricing first, then revealed Special and Collector’s Editions in the months leading up to launch. The GTA V Collector’s Edition retailed for $149.99 and included a SteelBook case, a logo-branded security deposit bag, a New Era cap, and exclusive in-game vehicles and content.

If Rockstar follows the same playbook, a GTA 6 Collector’s Edition could surface closer to the November 19 launch. Nothing has been confirmed.

Which edition is right for you?

For most players, the Standard Edition at $79.99 is the right call. It includes the full game and the Vintage Vice City Pack pre-order bonus. Nothing that gates the main story is locked behind the Ultimate tier.

The Ultimate Edition makes sense for players who want a head start with extra vehicles, weapons, and apparel from day one, or for dedicated Rockstar fans and collectors who want the most complete experience available. The $20 difference is modest if you’re going to spend hundreds of hours in the game anyway.

If a Collector’s Edition appears later this year and you want physical collectibles, you may want to hold off on Ultimate and re-evaluate when that announcement comes. Previous collector’s editions sold out quickly, so the moment one is announced, watch for it.

What to do now

Pre-orders are live as of midnight local time on June 25. If you haven’t already added GTA 6 to your wishlist on the PlayStation Store or Microsoft Store, do that now. Wishlist alerts will notify you when regional pricing and pre-order details fully update for your country.

Before you start the checkout flow, decide between Standard and Ultimate. The storefronts will be busy today, and you don’t want to second-guess in the middle of the transaction. Make sure your payment method is current on your console account. Checkout errors are the most common reason pre-orders fail.

If you want a physical copy, check Amazon, Best Buy, GameStop, and other major retailers. Some retailers offer their own pre-order bonuses on top of the Vintage Vice City Pack. PC players should note that no PC version has been announced. Wait for Rockstar to confirm a PC release date before making any pre-order decisions.
